Monthly Validation Study
For a number of reasons not all patients presenting with IID will be included in the GP presentation study. However it is extremely important that we understand the number of cases that we miss and the reasons why.
In order that we may determine under-ascertainment to the study a monthly validation check at each practice is being performed.
This validation study will tell us how many people were missed. If we understand what happens at Practice level to influence whether or not people are included in the presentation study we can take account of this in our calculations.
