As with all research involving NHS patients the IID2 study was submitted to a Research Ethics committee for review.
The IID2 study (07/MRE08/5) was reviewed and given a favouable opinion by the North West Research Ethics Committee
Research management and governance
NHS Research Management and Governance approval for each of the study sites was obtained.
