University of East Anglia - Ibrahim Abubakar
Dr Ibrahim Abubakar is a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of East Anglia, Norwich. He also holds a Consultant Epidemiologist post and heads the Tuberculosis Section, Respiratory Diseases Department, Centre for Infections, Health Protection Agency. Ibrahim qualified in medicine in 1992 and initially trained in general medicine before specialising in public health. His academic public health training was undertaken at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, University of Cambridge and the University of East Anglia. Current research interests include various aspects of health protection: (i) the role of drinking water and Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis in the aetiology of Crohn's disease (ii) Mycobacterium tuberculosis epidemiology and control (iii) Tuberculosis and HIV co-infection (iv) epidemiology and diagnosis of Food Poisoning.
