HPA - Regional Microbiology Network, Manchester - Eric Bolton

Eric Bolton PhD, FRCPath, is a Consultant Clinical Scientist with more than 30 years experience working for the former Public Health Laboratory Service, which is now part of the Health Protection Agency. He was Director of the Food Safety Microbiology Laboratory, Colindale, a National Reference Laboratory. He is currently Director of the North West Regional Health Protection Agency Laboratory at Manchester. His special interests are the microbiology and epidemiology of food-borne and water-borne gastrointestinal infections. Eric has an international scientific reputation in his specialist area in microbiology and has over 100 scientific publications. He leads an active R&D group in Manchester.

He is currently visiting Professor in Public Health Microbiology at the University of Central Lancashire and in Food Safety at the University of Salford.
