London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine - Clarence Tam

Clarence Tam obtained a BSc degree in immunology at University College, London, and holds Master’s and doctoral degrees in infectious disease epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Prior to being appointed Senior Statistician on the IID2 study he was based at the Health Protection Agency Centre for Infections, Colindale, where he was lead investigator on a Food Standards Agency-funded, multicentre study of risk factors for Campylobacter infection, a common bacterial cause of foodborne illness. He is currently a Lecturer at LSHTM, where his main research interests include the epidemiology of enteric infections, particularly Campylobacter and rotavirus, as well as the epidemiology of dengue fever. He teaches epidemiology and statistics on the Master’s programme at LSHTM, and overseas, including courses in infectious disease epidemiology at Mahidol University, Bangkok, and the International Vaccine Institute, Seoul. He is co-founder and Deputy Editor of Emerging Themes in Epidemiology (ETE), an online, Open Access epidemiology journal (www.ete-online.com).
